Nevada City Secret Poetry Project

August 2026

I brought my typewriter with me to Nevada City. I don’t know what possessed me to lug the thing around, but I did. I wrote a few poems and then I started leaving them around town.

This project helped me process my desire to have my work read and to be anonymous,. I wanted to give passersby something beautiful and tangible to feel in their hands when so much of our lives revolve around screens.

I went to Nevada City to work on my book project, Field Notes From A Saturn Return, and I had a massive breakthrough during my month there.
